General Information

Mineral County is located in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. It is bordered on the North and West by the State of Maryland with the North Branch of the Potomac River forming that border line, on the East by Hampshire County and on the South by Grant County. Mineral County was established in 1866 and contains 330 square miles of land area.

Mineral County offers the advantages of a rural setting yet its location places it in close proximity to major population centers and market areas on the East Coast. This fact is very attractive to many business and industry leaders wanting to expand or relocate into a new area.

Mineral County has invested much effort in developing the infrastructure necessary to support growth. This includes the construction of new schools, water and sewer systems, development of new business, and industrial sites ready for construction.
